In a large skillet cook chopped bacon on medium heat until golden brown, then add onion and garlic and saute in bacon grease stirring continuously for 3 minutes.
Add green beans to skillet and season with salt and pepper.
Let green beans cook for 5 minutes, then add water, cover skillet and let simmer until the green beans are to desired consistency.
Remove from heat and serve.
